CADET FURLOUGHS & LEAVES

LEAVE SCHEDULE

At Camden, there are two types of leave. Furloughs are typically weekends that cadets are able to spend away from campus. The second type of leave is referred to as a break. Please read below on the difference between a furlough and a break.

FURLOUGH

Furloughs typically begin on Friday after school and end at 9pm on the following Sunday. All furloughs are optional. Some furloughs are guaranteed such as the Fall Furlough, Presidents’ Day Furlough, Easter Furlough and Mother’s Day Furlough. Furloughs can also be earned through the academy’s merit system for good behavior and excellent grades. Additional weekend furloughs may be granted periodically throughout the year.

BREAKS

Breaks include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Breaks. During these breaks, it is mandatory that all cadets depart campus. Please refer to the school year calendar for the break schedule.

VISITATION

Parents are always welcome to the visit the academy! You never have to call to make an appointment to visit. However, we do ask that you notify the TAC officer, if you plan to take your cadet out overnight. There are also a number of sporting events on campus that all are welcome to attend free of charge.

MODES OF TRANSPORTATION

We provide transportation to the Charlotte, NC airport (CLT) and the Columbia, SC airport (CAE).

Students may also utilize the Amtrak, the station (CAM) is located in downtown Camden. Please refer to Amtrak for policies and age restrictions if planning to travel by train.

Students may take the bus from the Camden Station which is located at 204 Wall St. Camden, SC 29020.
