SCISA Student Government Retreat

On March 2 – March 4, CMA cadets Cason Pickett, Robert Crawford, Matthew Wong, Hayden Glockner, and Aaron White attended the South Carolina Independent Schools Association Student Government Retreat at the Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. This was CMA’s first time attending this annual event. Our cadets deliberated in an intense as well as very entertaining election process to choose President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Historian from among participating SCISA schools. Our cadets attended a formal luncheon on Monday, networked with administrators and students from all over South Carolina and learned the value of creating meaningful relationships across our great state. After lunch, cadets were treated to the humor of Mr. Steve Brogan, a ventriloquist, who provided some light-hearted comedy for the group with the help of a few wise-cracking puppets. A dance was hosted at the resort Monday evening and allowed our cadets some time to socialize with the other 700 or so students in attendance. On Tuesday cadets participated in the approximately two-hour deliberation process and voted on their choice for officers for the 2025-2026 year. The event was chaperoned by Senior Chief Scott Shields and Mrs. Tressa Shields.  My wife and I are thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and maturity of these young men and very proud of the manner in which they upheld the core values of our school.
