On Monday, November 18, The Camden Military Academy Spartans JV Basketball team had their season opener at home against The King’s Academy out of Florence, SC. The Spartans returned only one starter from last year and had only three weeks to prepare for their first game. The first half started off slow for CMA with the team missing a combined 17 layups and 14 turnovers. At halftime, the Spartans held a narrow 14-11 lead. However, the second half was a different story as the Spartan offense began to steamroll over the TKA Lions. The full court pressure defense was too much for Kings as CMA went on a 26-4 run that would prove to be too much for the Lions to overcome. The final score was 43-27 as CMA earned their first win of the season. Elijah Brisson led the way for the Spartans with 20 points. The Spartans next game is at Heathwood Hall on Friday, November 22 at 6pm.
Scoring: Brisson-20, Joffe-8, Suarez-6, Smith-5, May-4
