CMA Cadets visit the State House

On Tuesday, September, 17, 2024, Camden Military sent four of its cadets to attend the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) High School Fall Conference at the South Carolina State House. Cadet John Rivers (Battalion Commander); Cadet Logan Moore, Cadet Robert Bartis, and Cadet Carson Pickett attended the day long event and heard from a variety of guest speakers – most notably was Mr. Steven Diaz, a former Marine Corps corporal and Iraq War combat veteran. Cadets took their knowledge of how a bill becomes law in South Carolina and proposed a bill to other SCISA schools in attendance. CMA was fourth to present a bill, and while the bill did not pass, the cadets were able to experience a small sampling of the debating process that our elected legislators participate in to make laws. Pictured below are our four cadets with Mr. Steven Diaz (back right) and Mr. Robbie Braciszewski, Executive Director of SCISA (back left). The bottom picture is that of all the students that attended the conference on the steps of the State House.
