Camden Military Academy is excited to announce the launch of Advanced Placement (AP) classes beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year. As one of the nation’s leading private military boarding schools for boys, Camden Military Academy continues to expand its academic opportunities by offering college-level coursework that prepares cadets for success in college and future careers.
The addition of AP classes represents another important step in our mission to provide an academically challenging environment while developing leadership, discipline, and character. Families searching for a college preparatory boarding school, private high school with AP classes, or a military school that emphasizes academic excellence will find even more opportunities for their sons at Camden Military Academy.
What Are Advanced Placement (AP) Classes?
Advanced Placement courses are college-level classes developed to challenge motivated high school students. These courses encourage critical thinking, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and advanced study skills that help students transition successfully to college. Students who perform well on AP exams may also have the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced placement at many universities, potentially saving both time and tuition costs.
At Camden Military Academy, our goal is to prepare cadets not only to graduate but to excel in higher education. The addition of AP coursework strengthens our already rigorous academic program and gives students another pathway to distinguish themselves during the college admissions process.
Inspired by Student Leadership
The creation of the AP program was inspired by the initiative of Cadet Matthew Wong, who recognized the value that Advanced Placement courses could bring to Camden Military Academy. His vision helped spark conversations about expanding academic opportunities for current and future cadets.
With the full support of the Academy’s administration and faculty, that vision has now become a reality. Matthew’s leadership is an excellent example of how Camden Military Academy encourages students to think critically, take initiative, and create positive change within our community.
AP Physics 1 Launches This Year
The first Advanced Placement course offered at Camden Military Academy will be AP Physics 1. This course provides cadets with an in-depth understanding of physics through hands-on experiments, mathematical analysis, and real-world applications.
Students interested in engineering, aviation, computer science, mathematics, medicine, and other STEM fields will especially benefit from the challenging curriculum. AP Physics 1 also helps students build the confidence and study habits needed for success in college-level science courses.
Expanding Academic Opportunities
Camden Military Academy plans to continue growing its Advanced Placement program in the coming years. We hope to introduce AP Calculus and AP Precalculus during the next academic year, giving cadets additional opportunities to pursue advanced mathematics while strengthening their college preparation.
As our academic program continues to evolve, we will evaluate additional AP offerings that support our mission of providing one of the strongest educational experiences available at a private military boarding school.
