Nhd National History Day is more than just a credit for a class. It’s a fun learning experience where you can get together with other students at other schools to compete to advance divisions. You can do a report, make a website, make an exhibit or do a performance. I prefer doing a performance only because my enjoyment of acting. I have been JFK and an American POW in the Vietnam War. I have won first place at regionals both times, won first at state each time. It was so much fun going to nationals and meeting people from all the other states and territories. I also like going to the University of Maryland again and explore the campus. It’s quite a learning experience and something I’m proud to say that I am a part of and say that I participated in it. National History Day is a truly fun event that takes young people and puts them back in history. It is a great way to learn and have fun at the same time, and it is a great opportunity for everyone who is involved. I felt that all of the hard work that is required is 100% worth it. The feeling that you get when they first hand you that medal is a great feeling, so everyone who reads this, please join NHD. It is a great way to have fun and learn. Jake Williams
