Why Camden?

As a parent, choosing the right school for your children is a very important decision. So, I am often asked by prospective parents, “why Camden?” There are a number of reasons that I believe Camden Military Academy offers the very best quality education. However, the people that makeup our staff, faculty and administration is the one reason that sticks out to me more than any other. The people at CMA make the difference. Camden’s staff and faculty care. The majority have been here for at least 10 years with some being here as long as 40 years. Our people enjoy working at CMA where they find that they can truly connect and make a difference in each young man’s life. With class sizes often 12 students coupled with mandatory study halls, the amount of face time that student receives from his instructors is unparalleled in other educational settings. Additionally, the faculty offers a number of educational supports such as tutorials, the learning center, math labs and more. Also, all of our teachers must coach a sport or lead a club. This allows both our faculty and cadets to interact outside of the class setting. Because let’s face it, everything that one needs to know to be successful in life cannot be learned from a textbook in a class so this outside of the classroom interaction allows the teacher and the student to get to know the other on a more personal level. Being completely transparent, there are much fancier facilities at other boarding and military schools. There are also other schools that are much more military than Camden. However, there isn’t another school that can offer you and your student a more personalized learning experience. The teachers at CMA simply care.
In summary, if you are looking for the best most pristine facilities or the most “military” military school, look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a sound, quality educational alternative, choose Camden. You will not find a more dedicated faculty and staff than those at CMA. A wise man once shared a quote with me which I still use to this day when speaking with parents, “bricks and mortar do not educate children, people do,” and I am proud to say that Camden has the right people.
