What is the Learning Center?

Learning Center (LC) is for students who are failing two or more classes or have failed the same subject twice over two grading periods. The LC list is generated from two week grades, not six week grades. The purpose of the Learning Center is to give students remedial work that will help them improve their grade in the class that they are failing. LC takes priority over all activities on campus, including sports practice and clubs. LC is overseen by the LC instructor. This will be a teacher on campus who knows their role and what is expected. The role of the LC instructor is to provide a positive work environment for students to make up missed work, complete assignments, or work on practice assignments. Students who raise their failing grades to passing are removed from LC the next two week grading period.
