What is the First Day @ CMA Like?

My first day at CMA was during the August of 2015, and I still remember that day as clear as anything. My Father and Brother were with me. We picked up supplies from the Quartermaster and headed to the barracks. After saying goodbyes to my parents, I got a feeling that I never had before. I realized that I was on my own and I wouldn't have my parents around to pick up after me. For the first couple of hours, I got the ‘fish out of water’ look that nearly every new boy has. Hearing other companies march by made me think that I was supposed to be somewhere. I remember nervously pacing back and forth in my room. Fortunately, Second Lieutenant Woodfield knocked at my door to introduce himself and he gave a brief rundown of what's going on. I was instructed to start labeling all of my clothing articles with my laundry number. While I was painstakingly unpacking and labeling my stuff, my roommate Eugene Dumka arrived. We both introduced ourselves and started having conversations. Having a roommate to talk to definitely eased the tension. Looking back at this day made me realize how far I have come. I would have never thought on that first day that I would become what I am today in terms of rank, maturity, and wisdom.
