Today was our fifth Junior Leadership meeting, and we got to participate in person instead of our regular meetings, which take place on zoom. I really enjoyed getting to know the other members from Junior Leadership in different schools. During our meeting, they had a panel of speakers talking on a topic, which was the community’s health. Camden Military got assigned the problem of how we can eliminate hunger problems in our county. It was fascinating listening to the speakers talk about their efforts in helping the community and how you can reach out and help.

Today, we went to Woolard Technology Center for a Junior Leadership meeting. It was really great to see everyone in person again after our first in-person meeting a couple of weeks ago. We had two panels of healthcare professionals who had been working in the field for over 20 years! They spoke about how important certain resources in the community are to the health of the general public. In addition, I was able to talk to the expert on the National Administration of Mental Illness about her work in removing the stigma of certain mental illnesses, such as depression and anxiety. She was wonderful to talk to, and I’m so glad to have been afforded this opportunity to be on Junior Leadership to have experiences like this.
