Our CMA Varsity Soccer Team had a great performance this week. We played two games back to back on Tuesday and Wednesday with 2 well deserved victories.

Tuesday March 17
CMA Spartans 2- Lewisville Lions 1

This is by far the best game we have played so far this season. Coach Ferjani made some changes in our tactical system and some adjustments in our formation that really made a difference when it came to creating more chances of scoring for our forwards. We took a lot of shots that were saved by their goalkeeper, except for two scored by Jason Moreno and Max Zaslower. It was a very happy St. Patrick’s Day for the CMA Nation of Soccer.

Wednesday March 18
CMA Spartans 4- Keenan Raiders 2

Wednesday night was a beautiful day to play soccer, so we went to Columbia to have a clash against  Keenan HS Raiders. We played well and we had multiple plays that put us face to face with their goalkeeper, including two missed penalty kicks, that we could not materialize. We saw a lot of progress in our squad, especially in the team work strategy. Defense, midfield and offense worked together in order to win a game that turned out to be more difficult that what it appeared. Jason Moreno score two goals and provoked a third one when his shot was deflected by one of their defenders causing our last goal. Captain Stefano Betti scored one goal after dribbling through their defense and then tapping the ball to one of the corners of the goal. Coaches Ferjani and Ararat are happy to see improvement in the team and are looking forward to keeping working hard to have a fun and winning season.

We came back home at 9:00 PM and of course the entire campus heard the OLEEE, OLEEEEE, OLEEEEE…
