Varsity Football Wrap Up

CMA Varsity football finished its season on Friday, November 6, with a 27-0 victory over the Anderson Cavaliers. Matthew Waldsmith recovered a fumble in the end zone in the second quarter to put the Spartans up 6-0. Blake Roberts scored on a 15-yard touchdown run. He also added the two point conversion, making the score 14-0 at the half.

In the fourth quarter, Reggie Currie ran for a 5 yard touchdown, making the score 20-0. Later in the fourth quarter, Rayheem Dawson ran for a 46-yard touchdown, and Iggy Chamon kicked the extra point. Romani Susewell and Hayden Davidson had great catches throughout the game.

The Spartan defense shut down Anderson's offense. The pass-rush was great, and the coverage by the defensive backs were outstanding. Key players for the defense were Rayheem Dawson, with two interceptions, Zach Irtenkauf, with several tackles, and Wendell Bing, with great sacks. 

The Spartans finish the season with a 6-3 record. It was a great season!
