Last Wednesday, the Varsity baseball team lost in a heartbreaking fashion to McBee.  Trailing 3-0 for most of the game until the top of the 7th inning, the Spartans scored 3 runs to tie the game going into the bottom of the inning.  Ian Benton had a 2 RBI double to deep center field and plated Matt Zimmerman and Kirk Vaniscak.  Max Sheller pitched a no-hitter in the loss for the Spartans while striking out 13.  "It was an incredible game to be apart of, from the opening pitch.  We had opportunities throughout the game that we didn't capitalize on early, but we continued to battle all night and finally produced late in the game. I was really proud of Max and the way he battled all night.  It was easily his best performance of the year to date." Coach Beckham said.
