tutorials at cma

At Camden Military Academy, we have 25 minutes dedicated to tutorials each day. While this time may be short, cadets utilize it to get the extra help they need for classes, get a headstart on homework, study for an upcoming test, or just relax in the barracks. The tutorial is after the first period on Mondays, and on Tuesdays, the tutorial follows the second period. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday tutorial periods follow the third period. For many cadets, tutorials are the perfect time to get one-on-one time with their teachers to explain a challenging topic. This makes it easier for both the cadet and the teacher since they don’t have to keep up with the class. For example, I remember one particular Monday when I had a biology quiz during the second period, which I completely forgot about. Upon remembering the quiz after my first-period class, I had 25 minutes in the tutorial to go over the study guide with the teacher, thus, saving my two-week grade. Other than that, I usually go back to the barracks during the tutorial to take some time off between classes. A break between learning helps me get my thoughts together and stay focused when I return to finish the school day.
