The Spartan athletic department is proud to announce that three Spartans have signed letters of intent to play college sports. Seniors Ricky Cooper, Jalen Dawkins, and James Leland will have the opportunity to continue their playing careers at the next level.

Jalen Dawkins who is from Milledgeville, Georgia, and Ricky Cooper from West Palm Beach, Florida will attend Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. James Leland who is from Mt. Pleasant, will attend Coker College in Hartsville.

Jalen, who is a 3 time letter winner on the CMA football and basketball teams, is going to continue his football career. He anchored an offensive line that rushed for more than 2,000 yards each of the last 2 seasons. Though this season got cut short Jalen played a big role in keeping the team together and showed strong leadership when adversity hit the team.

Ricky is a 2 year letter winner on the football team. He was a leader along our defensive line and had a really good junior year. He was a backup offensive lineman as well. Ricky was a force to be reckoned with. Ricky led the Spartans in tackles for loss.

James is a 3 time letter winner and 2 time captain on the lacrosse team. He is not only an outstanding offensive player, but a great leader. James’ leadership has been instrumental in maintaining a positive attitude for the team during last year’s abbreviated season and this challenging season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are proud of these young men for all of their hard work, and dedication. They have earned their opportunity to continue playing in college. As they continue their education beyond the athletic fields and halls of Camden Military Academy, they will always be known as Spartans.
