The CMA Soccer Spartans played against Westminster Catawba yesterday in Rock Hill. CMA scored three quick goals in the first ten minutes. Scoring were Max Zaslower and Jake Harper (2). Stephano Betti added another goal only a few minutes later. Michael Moses added another and the Spartans were up 6-0 within the first twenty minutes of the match. After substitutions in which all the Spartans saw action over the next 20 minutes, the opposition was allowed only one goal. The weather took a serious turn for the worst, but the game continued. John Blount recorded 60 minutes playing time without giving up a goal. The lone goal scored by Westminster came late in the first half. Luke Earnheart was the anchor of the defense as he shut down the middle for the attackers. "We started real quick and had them backing up for most of the game." stated Coach Hewitt. The Spartans are 5-2 with their next game coming on Monday versus cross town rival Camden High School at Zemp Stadium. Game time is 6:45.
