The Camden Military Spartans Lacrosse team started preseason practice last week, Monday 11 November 2013. Members of the Spartans lacrosse team not involved in a winter sport will engage in preseason team and stick practice after school until students of Camden Military Academy leave for Winter Break. Thus far 10-15 athletes have attended the workouts. Preseason conditioning will commence immediately after break, and practice will begin shortly thereafter. 2014 will be the first year for Head Coach Caleb Thompson. Coach Thompson is from Greensboro, NC, where he attended Western Guilford High School, and he graduated from Colorado College (Colorado Springs, Colorado), where he was a member of the varsity lacrosse team for two years. Thompson spent the past two years as the Defensive Coordinator at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Colonel Jordan will be the assistant coach. Coach Thompson will attend the SCILL coaches meeting Saturday 7 December, and the 2014 schedule will be available shortly thereafter. Players and coaches alike are extremely excited for the potential of this years team.
