Spartan Basketball Update (JV and Varsity)

The CMA varsity basketball team had a twelve day lay-off between its last game and the January 22nd game with Riverside Christian from Lumberton, NC. The coaches took advantage of that time to work on individual offensive and defensive fundmentals and to install a new offense.

Unfortunately, the Spartans lost their first game back because of poor shooting and too many turnovers. When they overcame their nerves, the team did play well in spurts.

Devin Larsen had a good all-around game and led the team with 14 points. Malike McGill led the way on the defensive end with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Coach Horn hopes to see continued improvement during a three-game stretch next week.

JV BASKETBALL

Camden Military Academy’s JV basketball game against Riverside Christian was a close one early on, though we played well in spurts. They were a lot bigger than us. The leading scorer was Andre Cooper with 11 points.
