SMI or Saturday Morning Inspection
In Charlie Company, we take SMI’s very seriously. We use “the step by step procedure” to prepare for our SMI. This technique has been done for as long as I can remember.
We started from 6am by, taking our shoes, footlocker and chairs out of the room. We then clean the floor. Then we sit outside and spend time shining shoes and brass. Next, straightening the footlocker is followed by sweeping and moping. SMI’s normally last most of the day.
After all the cleaning is done, the barrack will be inspected by the tactical officer and the top 3 cadets in the chain of command.  The cadets are the Captain, XO, and 1st sergeant. Once the inspection is complete, the cadets can be dismissed to enjoy their free time or have another SMI inspection scheduled.
