We are proud to announce that Camden Military Academy joined the Kershaw County Robotics Team this year.  The team previously consisted of Camden High School and Kershaw County High School. These two schools have been participating in the First Robotics Challenge for several years now and have had quite a bit of success in the competitions.  Hopefully, with the new talent and skills that CMA students are bringing into club, this will year will see a first place trophy added to its accolades.
Our cadets recently helped to repair last year’s 3rd place robot which had suffered some damage during a collision with another robot during the competition. Cadet Scranton helped to reattach a frame that had been damaged and Cadet Ramsbey, W. reprogrammed the robot to calibrate a new, more powerful motor that had been added.  Although the First Robotics Challenge does not officially begin until January, the group is currently building a robot that will launch t-shirts during sporting events to keep their skills and minds sharp.
