Our FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team participated in the South Carolina FTC Championships in Gaffney SC this past weekend. We were ranked third out of 20+ teams at the end of the qualification rounds. We lost in the semi-finals when our partner robot did not move on the field due to a program challenge. Overall our robot performed well and the students did great all day.

Teams are judged throughout the day for several different awards. We were the recipients of the Rockwell Collins Innovate Award. This award is a great recognition for our FTC team. We have never won this award before.

We were runner up for the Inspire Award. More information about this award is at the end of this email. This award is the highest level award that is provided at the competition.

Because we were runner up for this award, we have earned the right to participate in the FTC Super Regional in San Antonio TX on March 12 and 13. This competition includes state level FTC competition winners and their award recipients from states in the southeast of the US. Winners of the Super Regional events get to compete at the National competition in St Louis MO,

The other mentors and I are working to see if we can support our team participating at the event in San Antonio.
