Night to Shine - A Tim Tebow Foundation

On Friday, February 7, some of cadets had the opportunity to volunteer at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia for a “Night to Shine,” sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Shandon Baptist Church and the International Praise Church of God partnered together to make “Night to Shine” an unforgettable prom experience for those with special needs over the age of 14 in our area. According to the Tim Tebow Foundation, this year 721 churches from around the world participated-all 50 states and 34 countries!
Camden Military’s Sword Drill lined the red carpet as the attendees to the prom arrived. Other cadets simply cheered them on as they entered and even participated in a few dances during the evening. In all, there were approximately 25-30 CMA cadets involved. It was an awesome experience for everyone involved and the cadets are already looking forward to next year!
This was the first time most of the people had ever seen our students in uniform and them creating a sword arch. The response and feedback was outstanding. The honorees were totally overwhelmed with joy and the organizers want Camden Military to return next year - to line the entire Red Carpet. After the event, I rewarded the students by going to eat at Magnolia Buffet in Columbia.
