Learn About The Library

This new school year has brought many opportunities for the Cline Library to serve students and staff at CMA. In early September all cadets participated in orientation to learn about the resources, services, and programs offered by the library. The library is open on regular school days until 5pm and at night during study hall, so cadets can check out books and magazines, work on assignments, and use the library computers. Cadets are also encouraged to enjoy the peaceful, comfortable atmosphere offered in our library.
Many new books were added to our library collection at the beginning of this school year. In addition to materials available in the Cline Library, cadets may also request and borrow books from the public library. One of our goals is to connect our cadets with the tools they need to become successful students and lifelong learners.
Our Library Club has gotten off to a rousing start this new school year with 30 new and returning members. We are busy planning programs to explore books together and projects to share with the community. Our first activity is reading the book, The Finest Hour: The True Story of a Heroic Sea Rescue, and watching the movie version of the story. A highlight of our book and movie event is lunch from Zaxby’s Restaurant.
The CMA Library will continue to explore ways to offer assistance to our students and staff. We are excited about the potential for another terrific school year.
Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open. – Laura Bush
