Lacrosse opens with a BIG win!

The CMA Lacrosse Team opened the season with an 18-7 home victory against Rincon Lacrosse Club. The Spartans exploded to a 10-1 lead in the first quarter, but Rincon scored four consecutive goals narrow the Spartans lead to 10-5 in the second quarter. That was the closest Rincon would come. Camden pulled ahead with a strong third quarter to ensure their 18-7 victory and a 1-0 record. Freshman Nick Shulkin led all scores with 13 goals and 2 assists. Senior Nathan Lusk led the Spartans with 5 assists, while also scoring 1 goal and picking up 7 ground balls. Junior Ray Gradwell led the team with 10 ground balls; he also won 3 face-offs, scored 2 goals, and had 1 assist. Starting in his first ever lacrosse game, goalie Daniel Wise made 11 saves on 18 shots. Senior Ross Hogan had 1 assist and 6 GBs. Senior James Henderson had 2 assists and 8 GBs. Senior Quinn Armstrong had 1 goal and 3 GBs. Sophomore Dylan Miller had 1 goal, 1 assist, and 3 GBs.


Captains for the game were: Joe Geiger (speaking), Nathan Lusk, Quinn Armstrong, and Ross Hogan.


The Spartans next game is against Rock Hill Lacrosse Club Saturday 1 March 2013.
