This year’s JV Baseball team at CMA was one full of eager players and inexperience. They had their ups and downs, but at the same time they played hard all year. This team was lead on the mound by Brandon Jackson. He was a returner from last year with plenty of pitching experience. A lot of these guys started on JV and were key subs on Varsity. There were only 25 guys in the program this year which is low for a jv and a varsity team, but that enabled the coaches to really get to work with these guys and get them valuable repetitions. One of the main goals for this year’s team was to not only get better as the season went along, but to also pick up the first win in the history of the JV baseball team here at CMA. With two games remaining against North Central, who beat them earlier in the year, and McBee, who also beat them earlier in the year, the Spartans chances were getting very slim. With rematch and revenge on their mind the Spartans beat North Central 9-1. They had a great pitching performance by Brandon Jackson and a great day at the plate by the whole team. Some key contributors to the win and on the season were Tyler Giordano, Zane Dodson, Mason Van Loan, Grant Talley, Chris Witthar, Cody Auburger, Jack Thurman, Max Bryan, Cody DuBose, and Michael Donovan. This was a great season for some of the inexperience to get experience to be able to play this game at the level in which it needs to be played.
