Intramural sports are sports played within the cadet corps in which companies compete against each other for points toward honor company. Honor Company is awarded to the company with the highest standard at the end of each week. Intramurals take place after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and last until 4:30. Since there are five companies in the corps, four of the companies compete with each other whilst the remaining company gets an “off day”, which rotates throughout the corps so that every company gets an equal amount of “off days." The companies participating in intramural sports will play sports such as flag football and ultimate frisbee while a member of battalion staff monitors and keeps the score. The competition between the companies builds the cadets’ devotion to their company while also allowing the cadets of other companies to interact. Most importantly, intramural sports pushes the cadets to get outside and get active which is important for physical and mental health!
