HEADMASTER’S GOLF TOURNAMENT 2017
Camden Country Club
By Glenda Porter
I know I am a bit prejudiced, but I think we have one of the best annual charity golf tournaments at the in the country. During the registration period, there’s the continental breakfast; and we work very hard to organize the day with grilled meals on the green where everyone can have a choice of hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and soft drinks. At the end of this tournament we served grilled ribs and chicken for an early evening meal around 4:30. And many thanks to 1SG David Green who stood under his canopy at the club house and served wonderfully refreshing drinks. We also have the best Corporate and Hole Sponsors who are always willing to give freely and generously to our academy in order to help deserving cadets receive financial assistance. And I cannot say enough about all those who donated items to the raffle drawing. We had Yeti coolers, a barbeque grill, restaurant gift certificates, golf bags and golf gear, shirts, hats, cargo bags, and many other items that made the winners’ day.
This year we had a total of 32 teams of four, driving 64 golf carts, looking to win the prized First-Place honors. The winners this year for First Place was The Mobley Team (and W.C. Mobley happens to be the CMA golf team coach): W.C. Mobley, Ben Karnes, Larry Lott, and Andy Karnes. Second Place was the Papa John’s Team: Chris Edge, Karl Benzies, Kyle Kogler, and Will Berry. Third Place, the Hanover Uniform Team: Mark Symmes, Andy Symmes, Jim Symmes and Brian Symmes. Fourth Place went to the Bohannan Team: Pat Neel, Nadine Neel, Dee Dee Bohannan, and Gary Bohannan. Congratulations to all of you!
Thanks to all of you who contributed to the success of the day. We had a great time!
