Gold Star Recognition

On Friday, February 14, Camden Military Academy held the Gold Star Ceremony for the first semester of the 2014-2015 school year at the Cline Chapel. This event recognized cadets for academic achievement during the semester. Those cadets earning a cumulative 90 or above for the semester, while not earning any grade less than a 77, were presented with a Gold Star decoration. Additionally, Headmaster Colonel Boland recognized the Company of the Semester, the Cadets of the Semester (for each company) and the Battalion Cadet of the Semester. Colonel Boland also presented the General Douglass MacArthur Award, a special award recognizing a cadet for the ideals embodied in its namesake—duty, honor and country.
After Chaplain Magnus Walker opened the ceremony with a prayer, and Colonel Boland gave opening remarks, the cadets were called by LTC Rice one at a time to receive their Gold Stars. One hundred and twenty-three cadets achieved this honor last semester. They were:
