Lieutenant Colonel Greg Simonson was born in Westchester County, New York, and then moved to Fairfield County, Connecticut.
In his early life, LTC. Simonson had a big passion for automobile repairs and worked on cars with his father as a child, but as he became older, his love for life sciences outgrew his love for cars.
After high school, he attended the University of Connecticut, and he expanded his love and knowledge of life sciences and majored in biology. However, he still was not satisfied. Being the driven worker and teacher that I know today, he wanted more. So, he enrolled in Western Connecticut State where he could obtain that. By the end of his educational years, he had a masters degree in Human Resource Management.
He then decided that he wanted to serve his country, so he joined the AirForce. However, he retired and was living in Sumter South Carolina. When looking for work, Camden Military Academy was the first job that came up. They needed a biology teacher, and he was the man for the job.
Now, roughly 20 years later, he teaches Anatomy/Physiology, & Biology. Through all his years at CMA, from being the tennis coach, Scout Master, or just a teacher, he told me that he has never once wished for a different outcome for his career. Camden Military Academy is his home, much like many of us here in the corps of cadets.
