The Theatre Department of Camden Military Academy was rewarded with a trip to Columbia, SC, to see a production presented by the Chamber Repertory Theatre. Five short stories were presented, including "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe. The students of the Theatre Department, which Includes drama and art appreciation had just performed "The Tell-Tale Heart" for the students of CMA. LTC Deborah Yarborough is the drama teacher and Alice Thaxton is the art appreciation teacher. They work together to entertain and deliver important messages to the students, faculty, and staff of CMA.
The outing to Columbia was a reward for work well done, but also a chance to view professional set design, great lighting and sound effects, and exceptional acting! The students enjoyed the plays, but they agreed their humorous spin on the "Tell-Tale Heart" was better than the professional performance!
