My name is Jack Furlow and this is my second year participating in Cross Country here at Camden Military Academy. When I first arrived at CMA, I did not plan on joining any sports teams. I became extremely bored and went on to give Cross Country a shot. This was by far the best decision I have made here at CMA. I fell in love with the sport and the spirit that the team gave off. All of our meets these past two seasons have helped me enjoy the sport of Cross Country and all the people who participate in it. At CMA Cross Country is the favored sport on campus. We receive special treatment that no other team gets at our school. Whether that being able to go out to eat, wearing awesome uniforms, or even spending bonding time at cool places such The South Carolina Cotton Museum or University of South Carolina basketball games. This is just a little taste of all the perks we can earn through hard work at practice and during our meets.
This past week, the Cross Country team has already ran a total of 3 meets. Unfortunately I am unable to run due to severe tendonitis in my right knee. This injury may stop me from running, but it does not stop me from coming out to support my team and enjoy all the fun memories we make while running together. These last few meets were phenomenal experiences and I look forward to the many more to come this school year!
