On the 19th of October the Camden Military Academy Civil Air Patrol Squadron conducted a field trip to Wilmington, NC. The cadets toured the USS North Carolina, a WWII battleship with a long history of action in the Pacific Theater. The ship is a museum dedicated to the Sailors and Marines who served aboard her during the war.

On Saturday the cadets observed an Ironman Triathalon entitled "Beach 2 Battleship". It began with a swim at Wrightsville Beach, continued with a bike race, and finished with a foot race; the finish line was in downtown Wilmington, across the river from the USS North Carolina.

The  cadets attended the  Ironman Triathalon in which LTC Melberg's daughter, Kristen, participated.  She is in the picture along with  (from left to right) Matt Halligan, Nick Sheffron, Luke Halligan, Major DeCandia, Tim Cantrell, LTC Melberg, Kristen Melberg and Jacob Evans.
