On the 19th of October the CMA Civil Air Patrol Squadron conducted a field trip to Wilmington, NC. The cadets toured the USS North Caorlina, a WWII battleship with a long history of action in the Pacific Theater. The ship is a museum dedicated to the Sailors and Marines who served aboard her during the war.

On Saturday the cadets observed an Ironman Triathalon entitled "Beach 2 Battleship". It began with a swim at Wrightsville Beach, continued with a bike race, and finished with a foot race; the finish line was in downtown Wilmington, across the river from the USS North Carolina.
