Captain Grogan's Business Class & Robotics

It’s been fast pace in Captain Grogan’s business class.
From the Social Security Act of 1935 to the Medicare Act of 1965, we finished last semester learning about all those deductions that are taken out of our pay and began talking about how those “little acts” affect our paychecks so much. Our business students began 2020 by acquiring "jobs" and learning to budget... but little did they know that budgets don’t always follow the path we chart for them. They were quite surprised as well as challenged to learn that they must be prude savers in order to manage those untrollable things such as flat tires, insurance, health, electric bills and hence why they each have an emergency fund just for those instances. More to come on that later!
Flipping switches, our Robotic team is preparing for our competition in Myrtle Beach which will take place in about 3 weeks. Over the course of the last three years, we’ve been able to compete with the best of them and are gearing up to do just that this year. Our guys continue to practice their driving as well as assuring themselves that each mechanism is doing its job so that when we arrive in Myrtle Beach, we will hit the ground rolling. Wish us luck!
