camden military academy's chess club

The Camden Military Chess Club has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 pm and is open to all cadets. We have cadets with varying skill levels from beginner to advanced. It has been a fun after-school activity and also has the benefit of developing skills that are useful in life such as tactical and logical thinking skills, problem-solving, planning, and preparation. Cadets have the opportunity to make friendships and play a time-honored traditional game that they enjoy. Most of the cadets this year are from Band & Staff Company which has several talented musicians and good chess players! Faculty mentors are Senior Chief Petty Officer Shields and Captain Holman.
