Camden Military Academy initiated a STEM Education club at the beginning of the 2021/2022 school year. What is STEM Education, and why is it important?

STEM is an acronym that stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Is an interdisciplinary approach to learning that combines academic concepts with real-world applications. Students use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in scenarios that connect the classroom to the outside world.

The Next Generation Science Standards, which were created to improve how students grasp and apply science, emphasize the importance of STEM education. In the classroom, STEM education usually focuses on project-based learning. Technology is used in projects and activities to emphasize the application of science and to prepare students for future studies.

What are the Benefits of STEM Education?

The value of STEM education is inextricably linked to technical and scientific achievements in society. Students will require a strong foundation in STEM topics, according to the National Science Foundation, to be successful in the information-driven world.

Every student may use their creativity and strengthen their critical thinking skills through STEM education and the application of technology. STEM education has far-reaching benefits for students of all ages and backgrounds.

The Stem Education program is meant to enhance the science experience, providing a hands-on approach to science in a fun way. Some of the labs we performed were fingerprint cards, wind-powered cars, making of ice cream to show freezing point depression, mathematical probability, and other experiments.

Cadets Graff, Rubinsky, and Luebkin faithfully showed up to the labs. Instructors Simonson (Biology), Simpson (Mathematics), Dority (Mathematics), and Melberg (Mathematics), were there for the fun while helping Ms. Vincent (4-H Club) run the program.
