Coach Trapp's world geography class is currently studying Europe. On Friday, they participated in a class "Highland Games." These games originated in Scotland and have become a staple of the country's cultural geography. "For me, I always enjoyed the hands-on activities in school, those were the lessons that stuck with me. Hopefully, my students will feel that same way looking back one day." Students competed in two of the main games held at the Highland Games, the Caber Toss and the Stone Toss. They also wore the traditional garment of the Scottish competitors, the kilt. Understanding the importance of cultural traditions in various locations around the world is very important and this lesson allowed students to have a little more insight into that.
First-place winners were Adrian Williams (C Co.) - Caber Toss & Dewitt Cure (C Co.) - Stone Toss
