Cadets Skype with an Author

On Wednesday morning, March 6, Camden Military Academy’s seventh and eighth grade cadets participated in a Skype session with Cressida Cowell, author of the How to Train Your Dragon series. The cadets listened to how Cowell developed the concept for her very popular book series. She then took questions from the viewers. This event was truly an interactive experience for the cadets.

An excited Cadet Montgomery said, “Ms. Cowell did an excellent job answering questions, as well as explaining what it was like to come up with the idea for the book and turning it into a movie.”

Col. And Mrs. Boland also chaperoned the participating cadets to see the recently released movie How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. The cadets enjoyed dinner at a Chinese buffet prior to the movie.

Cadet Sinnot added, “We got to learn how to draw the characters, and we also got to ask questions about the book. It was a really neat two-day experience. I really enjoyed it.”
