It was a busy week for Civil Air Patrol as we conducted Cadet Orientation Flights in a Cessna 172R (see pics). Cadets Maitland and Egbert flew an out and back to Greenville Downtown Airport (KGMU) where they had lunch at the "Runway Café." We literally taxied up to the restaurant, which is on airport property...the south ramp, and enjoyed a delicious lunch while listening to the Airport Tower Controllers clearing aircraft to land and take-off. Both cadets were instructed in how to fuel an aircraft. On the way home we overflew Cadet Egbert's home on Lake Wateree. Cadets DenBoer and Sheffron flew on Thursday; Ramsbey and Mauney flew to Monroe, NC and back on Friday.

On Saturday LtCol Melberg and several of our cadets acted as color guard for "Wreaths Over Kershaw" which honors all those who have died and served on active duty.
