Air Force Officers Inspire Future Leaders

On Tuesday, February 3, CMA had the privilege of welcoming two distinguished United States Air Force officers who spent the morning speaking with sophomores and juniors interested in commissioning in the Air Force after college. The visit provided students with valuable insight into multiple pathways to becoming an Air Force officer and the opportunities that follow.

Lt Waddy-Lewis and Lt Swanser spent over an hour engaging with our cadets, sharing personal experiences and answering questions about life as an Air Force officer and the many career opportunities available.

Lt Waddy-Lewis, a UNC–Greensboro graduate who commissioned through the Air Force ROTC, spoke in depth about the ROTC program. She explained eligibility requirements, the application process, and the wide range of academic and leadership opportunities available through AFROTC at more than 1,200 colleges and universities nationwide.

Lt Swanser, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, discussed his experience as a cadet at the Academy. He provided an overview of daily life at USAFA, the competitive application process, and the unique educational and leadership opportunities offered to students who attend.

The visit was an outstanding experience for our cadets. Students not only gained a clearer understanding of their future options, but also had the opportunity to ask questions, make connections, and network directly with active-duty Air Force officers. It was truly a great morning of learning, inspiration, and motivation for our future leaders.
