Health and Wellness
Supporting the Well-Being of Every Cadet
At Camden Military Academy, we understand that a cadet’s success begins with his overall health and well-being. A safe, supportive, and structured environment allows young men to focus on academics, personal growth, leadership development, and building confidence for the future. From physical health and emotional wellness to campus safety and daily support systems, Camden Military Academy is committed to helping every cadet feel secure, cared for, and prepared to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Our goal is to provide families with peace of mind knowing their son is part of a community that values his health, happiness, and personal development every step of the way.
On-Campus Medical Support
Camden Military Academy has four Licensed Practical Nurses on staff and a 9-bed infirmary available to support cadets who are feeling ill, recovering, or in need of medical attention during the school day.
Our nursing team helps monitor cadet health, administer medications, coordinate appointments, and communicate with families when medical needs arise.
Key Support Includes:
- 4 LPNs on staff
- 9-bed infirmary
- Nurses on call 24/7
- Three sick calls each day
- Medication administration throughout the day
- Coordination with families and healthcare providers
Medication Management
To help cadets stay consistent with prescribed medications, Camden Military Academy provides four scheduled medication passes each day.
Daily Medication Passes:
- Breakfast: Dining Facility
- Lunch: Infirmary
- Supper: Barracks
- Bedtime: Barracks
This structure helps ensure cadets receive their medications in a timely and organized manner throughout the day.
Doctor Partnerships & Medical Appointments
Camden Military Academy contracts with Pediatric Associates of Kershaw County and works with doctors throughout the practice to help support cadet healthcare needs.
In addition, CMA helps coordinate and transport cadets to medical appointments as needed. This provides families peace of mind knowing their son has access to local healthcare providers while away from home.
Appointments We Help Coordinate Include:
- Pediatric care
- Orthopedic care
- Orthodontist appointments
- Podiatry appointments
- Emergency dermatology visits
- Emergency dental care
- Other medical appointments as needed
Sick Call & Daily Care
Cadets have access to three sick calls each day, giving them regular opportunities to be evaluated by medical staff if they are not feeling well or need attention.
This daily system allows our nurses to identify concerns, provide care, determine whether additional medical treatment is needed, and help cadets return to their routine as soon as possible.
Mental Health & Counseling Support
Camden Military Academy also helps coordinate telemedicine counseling services for cadets when needed. This provides an additional layer of support for emotional wellness, adjustment, stress management, and personal growth.
Our goal is to support the whole cadet — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Emergency Medical Access
For urgent medical needs, emergency care is located just minutes from campus. An emergency room is approximately five minutes down the road, helping ensure cadets have quick access to emergency medical attention when needed.
Because Camden Military Academy is a 100% boarding school, we understand how important it is for families to know their son is cared for while away from home. Through on-campus nursing support, local medical partnerships, regular sick call, medication management, appointment coordination, and 24/7 on-call nursing availability, CMA is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and responsive health and wellness environment for every cadet.
