Congratulations to Cadet Jeet Pichika of Alpha Company for winning The Hobkirk Hill Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution annual essay contest. Cadet Pichika’s essay titled, “Thomas Paine’s Influence on the American Revolution,” demonstrated Paine’s unique viewpoint on American independence. According to Cadet Pichika, “his [Paine’s] writings and ideas were actively firing up the emotions of the colonists to take a stand and unite to take action regarding their independence from the British.” Cadet Pichika will receive formal recognition by the DAR at an awards ceremony in May 2025. Cadet Pichika and fourteen other CMA cadets from Senior Chief Shields’ English Literature classes competed in this prestigious essay contest sponsored by the Hobkirk Hill Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Congratulations Cadet Pichika on a job well done!
