
After three years at Camden Military Academy, Cadet Cason Pickett leaves behind a legacy of leadership, service, and excellence that has made a lasting impact on the campus community. A model cadet in every sense, he has consistently demonstrated what it means to embody the school’s “whole man” philosophy by excelling academically, leading his peers, and committing himself to service both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout his time at Camden, Cadet Pickett has held several significant leadership roles within the battalion, earning the respect of both his peers and instructors. He served as Battalion Commander in 2026, following leadership positions as Battalion Public Affairs Commander in 2025 and Battalion Public Affairs Lead NCO in 2025. His ability to lead with professionalism, integrity, and dedication has helped shape the battalion and set a strong example for younger cadets.
Beyond his leadership responsibilities, Cadet Pickett has remained actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities. He currently serves as President of the Horticulture Club, Camden Military Academy Dive Club, and Key Club as well as a member of both the National Honor Society (NHS) and the Civil Air Patrol. His involvement reflects his commitment to personal growth and serving others while pursuing a wide range of interests.
Academically, Cadet Pickett has maintained an impressive record of achievement. He has earned the school’s prestigious Gold Star award for the past three years, recognizing his consistent academic excellence. In 2023, he was also named a regional winner in the Regional National History Day competition, further highlighting his dedication to scholarship and hard work.
He will graduate as second in his senior class, a testament to his self-discipline and determination. Cadet Pickett was awarded the James F. Risher award, the most coveted award in the corps of cadets. This award is voted on by the cadet corps as well as faculty and given to the cadet who best embodies the values of Camden Military Academy. Cadet Pickett was also awarded the General Douglas MacArthur award for “Most Outstanding Cadet.” In addition to his accomplishments at school, Cadet Pickett has already begun serving his country. During his junior year, he enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he currently serves as a Combat Engineer. His decision to serve demonstrates his deep sense of responsibility and commitment to something greater than himself.
This fall, Cadet Pickett will continue his journey at Texas A&M University, where he plans to build on the strong foundation he has created through leadership, academics, and service. He will be in the Corps of Cadets and plans to commission in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation. With an outstanding résumé and a legacy of excellence, he is well prepared for the opportunities ahead.
