Cadets earn their Open Water Certification

Over the past two weekends, cadets here at Camden Military Academy have been working diligently toward earning their Open Water Dive certifications, a challenging yet rewarding process that combines both knowledge and skill. This certification process involves intensive classroom instruction to understand diving theory and safety, followed by hands-on pool training sessions to practice essential underwater skills. The final step requires cadets to complete a series of dives in an open-water environment, demonstrating their ability to manage equipment, maintain buoyancy, and navigate safely in real conditions. Successfully completing this training grants them the ability to dive independently to depths of up to 60 feet, opening the door to a whole new world beneath the surface. “I am very proud of this group of students, they have joined the previous cadets in earning this certification that will carry beyond their time here at Camden. I think this course shows perseverance and dedication.” – Mack Trapp

Beyond earning their certifications, these cadets now have the opportunity to officially join the CMA Diving Club, where they can continue developing their skills and camaraderie through shared experiences. Club members will have the chance to participate in adventure diving trips to exciting destinations like Florida, where they can explore dive sites and marine life firsthand. This accomplishment not only highlights their dedication and discipline but also reflects the Camden’s commitment to providing unique, hands-on learning experiences that build confidence and teamwork. We are proud to congratulate the six students who successfully met all requirements and achieved their Open Water Dive certifications, a remarkable milestone in their Camden journey!
